Ent Credit Union Makes $2.5 Million Investment to Support ENT Care at Children’s Hospital Colorado

February 12, 2025

Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation is honored to announce a generous and high impact investment from its longtime corporate partner, Ent Credit Union, that establishes an endowed chair in pediatric otolaryngology (also known as ear, nose and throat or ENT) at Children’s Hospital Colorado (Children’s Colorado).

Ent’s $2.5 million philanthropic investment will have a far-reaching impact across the seven locations where Children’s Colorado offers ENT services, including speech pathology and audiology. Soham Roy, MD, will serve as the inaugural chairholder of the Ent Credit Union Endowed Chair in Pediatric Otolaryngology.

ENT conditions, such as hearing, speech, breathing and sleep problems, upper respiratory diseases and infections, are the primary reasons for pediatric doctor visits and hospitalizations of children. These conditions significantly affect a child’s quality of life, physical health, emotional well-being, social development and academic performance.

We see investing in children’s health and wellbeing as a key pillar in our philanthropic work. These conditions impact many of the families we serve across Colorado, and it’s our mission to come alongside them to improve their quality of life.

Dr. Soham Roy

Dr. Roy leads the Department of Pediatric Otolaryngology at Children’s Colorado, which serves nearly 30,000 unique patients annually and is one of the largest fellowship-trained pediatric otolaryngologist teams in the western United States. With the endowed chair, Dr. Roy intends to enhance recruitment and retention of elite medical talent, support continuous innovation and excellence in care, and expand research and scholarly initiatives.

“This generous gift from Ent Credit Union helps solidify Children’s Colorado’s leadership in pediatric ENT care. We are grateful for their investment and the leadership of Mollie Bell, who serves on our Board of Trustees,” said Jen Darling, Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation President and CEO. “Dr. Roy is a revered leader and innovator in the ENT field, and this endowed chair will help him continue advancing patient safety and quality improvement. We’re proud to partner with an organization that prioritizes investing in the community and the well-being of Colorado’s children.”

Generosity from our community and corporate donors like Ent Credit Union drives life-saving innovations and discoveries for kids and ensures access to world-class pediatric expertise for families who need the hospital. As a nonprofit hospital, Children’s Colorado relies on community support to care for more kids than any other hospital in our seven-state region.
