About KIDstruction

KIDstruction is a fundraising initiative that brings together architectural, construction and engineering industries and their employees to support life-saving care at Children’s Hospital Colorado.

Throughout October, participating organizations rally their teams through employee giving, corporate contributions, matching gifts and friendly industry competition.

Every dollar raised supports child health research at Children’s Hospital Colorado, helping clinicians and scientists discover better ways to diagnose, treat and prevent childhood illness.

Build a campaign that works for your company

KIDstruction is designed to be simple, flexible and meaningful. Whether your company has 10 employees or 10,000, the Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation team will help you create a campaign that fits your culture, workforce and philanthropic goals.

Participating companies can engage employees through payroll deduction, one-time online gifts, corporate matching, company contributions or a combination of approaches.

How it works

1. Register your company

Create a company team through the KIDstruction online campaign page.

2. Identify a company champion

Select a staff member who will serve as the primary contact between your organization and Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation.

3. Build your campaign plan

Meet with the Foundation team to determine campaign dates, giving options, communications and employee engagement opportunities.

4. Invite employees to participate

Use the provided email templates, social media content, posters, banners, giving links and QR codes to build awareness and encourage support.

5. Celebrate your impact

Recognize your employees, share campaign results and celebrate what the construction community accomplished together

KIDstruction offers a meaningful way to engage employees, strengthen your company’s commitment to the communities you serve and make a lasting impact for children receiving care at Children’s Hospital Colorado. Participation is flexible, and companies of every size are encouraged to get involved.

Every dollar raised through KIDstruction stays local and supports child health research at Children’s Hospital Colorado.

Employees are encouraged to consider giving $2 or more for each hour worked during KIDstruction. Every gift, regardless of size, helps make a meaningful impact. 

Getting Started

After your company commits to KIDstruction, the Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation team will schedule a kickoff meeting with your Company Champion to: 

  • Determine campaign dates 
  • Review participation and giving options 
  • Share campaign resources 
  • Answer questions 
  • Develop a plan that fits your organization

Start a company team

A Company Champion serves as the primary contact between your company and Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation. Company Champions help coordinate communications, encourage employee participation and collaborate with the Foundation throughout the campaign. 

The Foundation provides resources and guidance to help your campaign succeed, including: 

  • Campaign planning 
  • Communication templates 
  • Employee resources 
  • Gift Commitment Forms 
  • Online giving links and QR codes 
  • Ongoing implementation support 
  • Recognition materials 

Employee Giving

Employees may participate through: 

  • Payroll deduction, when offered by their company 
  • A one-time online gift 

No. KIDstruction is designed to work with the systems and giving programs your organization already has in place. Companies may encourage online giving, offer payroll deduction, provide a company match or select another approach that fits their organization. 

Yes. Employees can make a secure one-time gift through the Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation KIDstruction donation page.

Yes. Gifts made to Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Donors who give online will receive a tax receipt. 

Company Giving

No. Company matching is encouraged but optional. Many organizations choose to match employee donations to increase their collective impact and encourage participation.

Companies may submit matching gifts by:

  • Making a secure online corporate donation
  • Mailing one company check payable to Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation

 

Your Foundation contact will provide complete payment and processing instructions.

Yes. Companies may make a corporate gift, sponsor KIDstruction or combine employee giving with a company contribution. The Foundation team will work with you to identify the approach that best fits your organization. 

Absolutely. KIDstruction is designed for companies of all sizes. Whether your organization has 10 employees or 10,000, your company can make a meaningful contribution to pediatric research.

Campaign Administration

Campaign timing is flexible and can be customized to fit your organization’s schedule. We recommend running your campaign for at least one week. The Foundation team will help determine the timeline that works best for your company.

For payroll-related questions, employees should contact their company’s Human Resources or Payroll department. 

For questions about KIDstruction, Children’s Hospital Colorado or campaign planning, employees and Company Champions may contact the Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation team.
