Many illnesses and injuries affect more than just one organ or system, and no single specialist is the best at everything. That’s why our providers combine their expertise to coordinate care that recognizes patients’ unique needs. In the past, children with complex conditions had to make separate appointments with each specialist, requiring lots of hospital visits. But thanks to donors, Children’s Colorado is now home to one of the largest Multidisciplinary Clinics in the country. With super-sized exam rooms, multiple play areas and high-tech teleconferencing equipment, we can offer kids with complex needs a full spectrum of treatment, all in one day, in one innovative place. When we work together — across disciplines and in partnership with families — our patients reap the rewards.
Nationwide, young people are experiencing a mental health crisis, with an estimated 1 in 5 youth facing a mental health disorder. Unfortunately, many struggle to get the care and support they need. With the help of donors, Children’s Colorado is radically changing the mental health landscape so kids can get the right diagnosis and treatment before issues escalate to a crisis. We are expanding our facilities to help those who urgently need support today, while building partnerships and prevention programs to create a better system for helping youth statewide.
